TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Jessica
Jessica from Holland completed the 120-hour TESOL course with tutor support and videos. Jessica tells us in this TESOL review that she found the course to be very useful and felt that she learned a lot from taking it. Not only does the course come with useful teaching tips, graduates also receive lifetime employment support to help with finding a job on completing the course. Jessica recommends the course for anyone wanting to start a career in English language teaching.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
Now that we are getting into the technical aspects of language, I am realizing this is something I need to brush up on. This was all very useful because they are questions I get asked in my adult classes. For example I had not though about the differences between present perfect, continuous and perfect continuous since I was in high school. Even then, I don't think I could tell the differences and WHEN to use them. It is very useful to now have concrete reason for when we use something like present perfect. e.g. Something that happened in the past, but may or may not continue in the future. While the controversy surrounding testing is something important to be considered, no one can argue the importance of evaluating students effectively. Hopefully, test taking will be a familiar method to my future students. The more comfortable students are with test taking, the more effective it will be in evaluating students. One of the few situations in which I would hope to avoid giving a test to a student would be when faced with a student who is either very unfamiliar with test taking or has previously shown their understanding but cannot show the same level of understanding on a test.
