TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Mark
In this TEFL review video, Mark from the UK talks about his experience studying with ITTT. Mark took the 120-hour online TEFL course with tutor support and videos. He decided to take the course so that he could teach English in Northern Thailand. Mark had a very positive experience taking the 120-hour course and is now taking a specialised course in teaching English to young learners.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
I learnt a lot from this unit, I make me understood the construction of a sentence. For example, I usually go to gym early in the morning with my best friend. Now I would tell all the words as they are. I, a personal pronoun, usually, an adverb, go, an intransitive verb, to, a proposition, early, an adverb, in, a preposition, the, a definite article, morning, a noun and so on. It is very important to get students to know gramer of English, though it is a bit tricky. I would love to try the gramer game with my daughter to see how she responses to it and what is the best way to teach grammer. This unit covers the productive parts of using the English language: speaking and writing. What this means is when we are producing output rather than absorbing input (as with receptive use). The unit went through the stages involved in producing language output and what to look for, as a teacher, when I am teaching English speech and writing. It also highlighted some of the obstacles I face as a teacher for getting my students actively involved in the lesson. I found this test especially difficult with the Study stage and imaging in a classroom the most effective sequence of Study options.
