TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Olesia
In this TESOL review video Olesia discusses her experience on one of ITTT’s online courses. Olesia would recommend ITTT to anyone wanting to become an English teacher. After completing the course Olesia made use of ITTT’s lifetime job support and received information to help with her job search. She has also been able to put what she learned on the course to use in her private English classes.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
Modals, phrasal verbs, and voice can all be used to manage the degree of formality, the certainty, and the emphasis of objects. Relative clauses can be used as a standalone sentence, or alternatively to add additional (and perhaps optional) information to describe more detail. There are three types of phrasal verbs and even for the native english speaker these can be challenging to define. To distinguish phrasal verbs the user must determine whether a direct object is being used, and the placement of the object noun (or pronoun) in relation to the verb. I found this unit quite challenging. The two lessons examined in this unit provides a realistic analysis of how a teacher's attitude during lessons, can lead to loss of interest and confusion in students. The first lesson highlights the type of attitude that a teacher shouldn't have as this discourages students, leading them to believe that learning the language is much harder than it actually is. On the other hand, the second lesson clearly shows how any given teacher should rapport with his or her students so as to create a friendly, stress-free environment for students, and in so doing maximizing their learning capability.
