TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Stratton
In this TESOL review video Stratton give an overview of his third week of his TEFL/TESOL course. He highlights some of his experiences teaching English to the local Thai students.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit is an introduction of Business English course. The course content and necessary information regarding the course is discussed. Then EPS which stands for teaching of English for specific purpose is being discussed. According to this unit there is a good employment prospect for those who teach Business English courses and there are different types of teaching it, private, in the language centre or in the company 'in House'. Other than location a Business English teacher must consider the that students might be from different positions from executives to top managers in the companies.Unit 7 was focused on the actual teaching of a lesson for new vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions. Something that I took away from this unit was that the origin of vocabulary words do not matter to English language learners. That is something I will keep in mind not to teach my students unless they specifically ask. The reason why it stuck with me is that I find it helpful to know the origin of a word when I'm trying to remember the meaning. However, now that I am thinking about it, too much information at once could cause problems with an English language learner.
