TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Surangi
This TEFL review was recorded by ITTT graduate Surangi. Surangi took the TEFL course with ITTT because she wanted to become an English teacher. She found the course introduced her to aspects of teaching that she was unaware of such as interaction between the teacher and students, lesson planning and discipline. The course also gave her the chance to refresh her knowledge of English grammar. Surangi is currently teaching children in her local neighbourhood and is looking forward to taking the Certificate in Teaching English to Young Learners course with ITTT to help her be a better teacher for her students.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit brought me out of the traditional classroom and helped me understand the nuances of teaching business English. From this unit , i learnt the Dos and Don`ts of teaching special groups and how to effectively prepare to convey a successful lesson. It also brought back the importance of the ESA format, which shows its marked importance in language acquisition. I was however left wanting for information on how to teach special needs. I do believe nonetheless that in the near future i will be able to do another course in which i`ll get that information. Overall, a very informative unit. From this Unit I could learn that Future Tense plays vital role in English language. I could also learn that in the Future tense system there are seven sub-categories and each tense category has different usage, different sentence formation, different Predictions or Plans, etc accordingly the meaning of the sentence changes. I have learned that in future tense we can make a use of Present simple and Present continuous with a future meaning. I could also learn many new Teaching ideas for making ESL lesson successful and more interesting. Thanks to ITTT for the detailed guidance and support.
