TEFL Videos - What is the difference between TESOL and TEFL 1
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This was a great review of the parts of speech. I feel as a native English speaker I know the parts of speech but definitely needed the review before I could teach someone the parts of speech. I had forgotten all of the different and difficult, without reason, rules in the English language. I think I will always be referring back to the basic parts of speech to teach them, but I feel that I can come up with some interesting games to help out students. It will be interesting to teach them the rules and then say also you just have to remember these words because they do not fit the rule. This unit went over the receptive skills of reading and listening. The importance of these skills was emphasized as well as how to try to best teach them. This unit seemed to be more focused on teaching than learning, or more focused on learning how to teach. Getting a general outline of different ways we read and listen will also help in breaking it down for students and help in knowing what to focus on with them. Since reading and listening are very basic skills it will be important for students to have a strong foundation in them and this unit helped in establishing how to achieve that.
