Our 60-hour TEFL course provides a solid introduction to Teaching English as a Foreign Language which makes it a popular choice for people who are looking for an insight into the TEFL world, as well as those who are planning to work as a teaching volunteer. One of the course’s most popular features is the fact that you can fit it around your existing commitments by setting a pace of study that suits you. All graduates of the course will also receive the benefit of our unique support service throughout their EFL teaching career.
Once you have signed up for the 60-hour course, you will receive an email containing the log-in details that will give you access to your personal section of our online system. From this restricted area you will be able to view the course materials which you can either study online or download to your own computer.
When you feel you have fully studied the material for an individual unit, your understanding of the topics it covers will be assessed before you proceed to the following section. The final part of the course consists of a final essay writing task which will be submitted online for assessment by an online tutor. Once you have successfully completed all sections of the course, you will graduate and receive your introduction to TEFL certificate.
If you choose the tutored option you will receive the valuable support and assistance of our experienced and dedicated online tutors for the duration of the course. At any time you will be able to contact an experienced online tutor with any problems or questions you may have. All your correspondence will be answered via email within one working day.
TEFL Course Aims
Our shorter format, 60-hour course will give you a solid introduction to the world of English language teaching. The course has been specifically designed to provide you with a wide range of essential skills that will help you to confidently set out on your TEFL career.
Please note that many employers will insist on their teachers having a certificate of 120 hours or more (see our 120-hour certificate course here).
TEFL Course Content
The materials for the 60-hour course take a close look at the fundamental teaching skills that you will require to successfully deliver EFL lessons in the classroom. Some of the subjects covered include teaching theories and methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning and how to test and evaluate your students’ progress. The relatively short format of the 60-hour course does not allow the time to cover language awareness topics and certain other important components that are included in our 120-hour course.
The course materials are organized into ten separate units that have been specifically put together to gradually build your knowledge of each topic, without overwhelming you with excessive amounts of information at one time. Thanks to this carefully planned structure, you should find that you can comfortably work through the materials at a pace that suits your personal circumstances and learning style.
